Queen Bees are in Career War - Taking an International Step Towards Equality in Women's Careers💪

Coordinated by Venus Women's Rights Association, the Erasmus+ Mobility of Youth Workers project "Queen Bees are in Career War" (2024-1-LV02-KA153-YOU-000227586) was implemented in Riga, Latvia, from 22 to 30 September 2024. The project brought together youth workers from Bulgaria, Estonia, Germany, Latvia, Romania, Türkiye to collaborate on promoting gender equality and women's empowerment in professional life.

Although women's participation in education and employment has significantly increased over the years, gender-based stereotypes and inequalities continue to create barriers in many areas of society. Limited access to leadership positions, the gender pay gap, discrimination in career development, and social expectations regarding women's family roles still prevent many women from reaching their full potential. This project was designed to address these challenges and encourage practical, long-term solutions through international cooperation🎉

The main objectives of the project were to encourage greater participation of women in decision-making and leadership processes, challenge traditional gender stereotypes, promote equal opportunities in employment, and support women's career development. The project also highlighted the importance of sharing family responsibilities equally and questioned the perception that domestic and caregiving duties belong exclusively to women.

Throughout the mobility, participants engaged in a wide range of non-formal education activities focusing on gender equality, leadership, entrepreneurship, self-confidence, empathy, women's representation in management, and discrimination in the workplace. Interactive workshops, simulations, group discussions, and practical exercises were designed to strengthen the professional competencies of youth workers while providing them with effective educational tools for their future work.

Beyond its educational dimension, the project also aimed to strengthen intercultural dialogue, foster mutual understanding among participants from different cultural backgrounds, and encourage long-term international cooperation. By taking advantage of the learning opportunities offered through the Erasmus+ Programme, participants expanded both their professional knowledge and their capacity to promote gender equality initiatives within their local communities.

As the coordinating organization, Venus Women's Rights Association believes that societies where women have equal opportunities in economic, social, and leadership roles are stronger, more inclusive, and more sustainable. Through "Queen Bees are in Career War," the partnership sought to contribute to this vision by empowering youth workers to become advocates for equality and positive social change across Europe🎉 🎊
